When choosing a property think carefully about your requirements; cottages in the centre of villages may be convenient for shops/pubs/restaurants, but that often means there is no garden, there may be some traffic noise, or parking may be several minutes walk away. Places out of the village centre may be great for peace and tranquility, but you will have a longer walk to get milk or a newspaper. Some of the cottages are hundreds of years old, and may have low ceilings or beams which may be a problem if you are very tall. Mevagissey is perched on steep hills that drop down to the harbour, and this means properties are often approached via steps, or have several flights of stairs inside. Seagulls can be noisy, seaweed may be smelly, and your romantic spot close to the water may mean waves against the windows during a storm!
