A perfect little couple’s retreat, Handspan Cottage is a characterful 300 year old fisherman’s cottage, tucked away from passing traffic just yards from the harbour and only a short walk to the restaurants, pubs and shops. It has harbour and sea views from all three floors, and a small courtyard area behind the cottage. The cottage is less than a minutes walk from the South West Coast Path.
ACCOMMODATION – On the ground floor there is a well-equipped kitchen/diner with electric cooker and hob, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer, and dining table for two. The stable door gives guests views over the harbour while they cook and eat! The first floor consists of a double bedroom with harbour and sea views, and a small shower room with wash basin and toilet. On the top floor there is a light and airy sitting room with exposed rafters, with sofa, TV, DVD player, bluetooth wireless speaker and ipod dock, and great views over the harbour and sea. Handspan cottage has a small raised courtyard to the rear with table and chairs; access is via 5 narrow steps.
FEATURES – Heating and electricity included, as is bedlinen and bathroom towels. The sofa bed can be used on request, but occupancy is limited to two people. No smoking. 1 quiet well-behaved small/medium dog welcome – £20/wk charge. Free wi-fi. Changeover day – Friday.
GENERAL INFORMATION – The cottage is located on ‘The Cliff’, a pedestrian path just yards from the harbour. A parking permit is included for the harbour car park (after dropping off luggage guests should display the permit and park in the harbour car park, on the opposite side of the quay). A refund of £25 per week will be given if guests do not require the parking permit. Access information – gently sloping pathway to the cottage, with level access into the cottage. Access between floors is by a narrow open-tread, spiral, metal staircase, visible in the pictures; please ensure this is suitable for you. The rear courtyard is accessed by going out of the front door, round the side of the cottage to the back path, then up 5 narrow steps.
